De AGO The Performance features a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive motor, and you feel it immediately. 600 W of power, 75 Nm of torque, up to 340% pedal assistance. On paper, those sound like specifications you can't really do anything with, but in practice, it simply means you don't suddenly have to struggle up a steep bridge or against a strong headwind. You keep pedaling, the motor helps push along, and that feeling of “oh, this is going really smoothly” actually lingers for the entire ride.
The suspension fork helps with that. Cobblestones, speed bumps, sunken curbs—you feel them, but they don't shake you out of the saddle. Combined with the upright riding position and the low-step frame, this is a bike you simply hop on, without any fuss, and where you sit just as fresh after an hour of riding as you did at the start.
What I personally like best about this bike: it has no chain. Instead, a Gates CDX belt, combined with an Enviolo hub gear. That means no grease on your trouser legs, no rusty chain after a rainy winter, and no shifting up that doesn't quite feel smooth. You shift steplessly with the push of a button, and that works perfectly fine even while you're stopped at a traffic light. Handy if you shift just a little too late and still want to pedal away smoothly.
The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes do exactly what you expect of them: they grip well, even in the rain. Mounted on the handlebars is the Bosch Kiox 300 color display, showing speed, range, and riding mode at a glance. Connect your phone via the Bosch eBike Flow app and you get navigation and ride recording as well. Nothing superfluous, just nice to have if you want to head that way.
The 540 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery is neatly tucked away in the aluminium frame; you hardly see it. Range of up to 120 km, depending on how hard you pedal and which assistance level you choose. You can simply remove the battery to charge it indoors, so you don't have to lug your bike upstairs.
Eventually, yes, but that takes much longer than with a chain. On average, a Gates belt lasts for years without needing any maintenance, and you don't have chain oil or the hassle of rust. We just check it along with a service.
Certainly, just drop by the MOEVS Store in Eindhoven or Antwerp. Both colors are ready, and you are always welcome to take a short drive before making a choice.
With a conventional gear system, you shift between fixed positions; with the Enviolo hub, you shift steplessly. This means you always have exactly the right resistance, instead of being stuck between two gears. It also operates nice and smoothly at the knob, without having to pedal while shifting.
