Even without legal jargon. A standard e-scooter is not allowed on public roads in the Netherlands. This one is, because it has been approved as a special moped. In practice, it comes down to three things:
What is not included: a helmet requirement. This does not apply to this category. We still strongly recommend a helmet, because 25 km/h is faster than it sounds, but it is not mandatory. The minimum age is 16 years.
This is also exactly why Pure apartthe NL version makes. The hardware is largely identical to the international version, but the approval, the limitzing And the license plate makes the difference between having fun on your own property and just driving to work.
The first thing that stands out is the suspension. The Air6 Pro+ Suspension features dual suspension: a GlideMotion telescopic front fork and rear shock absorbers. Combined with 10-inch tubeless tires at 2,5 bar, this means you will feel cobblestones, speed bumps, and sunken curbs, but not in your hands and knees. With most e-steps In this price range, suspension is the component where people cut corners first, and you notice that after ten minutes of city driving.
The rear hub motor delivers a nominal 350 W and peaks at 1200 W. On paper, that is a figure you can't do much with, but in practice, it means you won't come to a standstill at a small bridge or on a ramp. It simply keeps going up to a 19 percent incline. The throttle is operated via a thumb lever and it features cruise control, which is especially nice on a longer, straight stretch of bike path.
There are three settings: 6 km/h for pedestrian areas, 15 km/h for busy stretches, and 25 km/h when possible. The frame is made of steel, it weighs 23 kg, and carries up to 120 kg. It folds up: when folded, it is 58,7 cm high, so it fits in a car trunk or behind a hallway door. Let's be honest about that 23 kg: this is not a scooter you can lug up three flights of stairs without noticing it.
Because this is a license plate model, the lighting is truly full-fledged. A 150-lumen headlight, a taillight that stays on continuously and also functions as a brake light, turn signals, front, rear, and side reflectors, and a bell. No need to just buy a clip-on light. It also has a built-in kickstand, which sounds like a minor detail until you've ridden a scooter without one.
He brakes using a drum brake at the front and an e-brake with KERS at the rear. That KERS converts braking energy back into battery capacity, so in the city with many traffic lights, you gain some extra charge along the way. A drum brake also has a practical advantage that you only appreciate in November: it is sealed, so dirt, water, and road salt cannot get in.
The battery is a 46,8 V / 10 Ah Li-ion pack, good for a range of up to 75 km. As always, this is a figure under favorable conditions: riding style, weight, temperature, and hills make a significant difference. The charger is included, and the battery is certified according to EU 2023/1542, IEC 62133, and UN38.3, which is now the minimum you should look for in an e-scooter. Furthermore, the scooter is IP65 water-resistant, so a rain shower along the way is no problem, and you connect it to the app via Bluetooth for modes, speed, and battery status.

Yes. This model has been approved by the RDW as a special moped, with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. It comes with an official Dutch license plate and complies with European safety and battery regulations. Please note that the approval applies to this specific NL version, not to the international versions of the Air6.
The license plate is included. What you still need to do: register the scooter in your own name and take out third-party liability insurance. After that, you can hit the road. A helmet is not mandatory for this category, but it is advisable. We will explain exactly which steps to follow upon delivery, so you don't have to figure it out yourself.
Up to 75 km, depending on riding style, terrain, temperature, and your weight. If you ride a lot on the highest setting or live in a hilly area, you will go below that. The KERS rear brake helps out a bit in city traffic.
The technology is largely the same: dual suspension, 10-inch tubeless tires, the same motor and battery. The difference lies in the approval, the limiter.zing at 25 km/h and the supplied license plate. If you really want to use it on public roads, the NL version is the only one that makes that legally possible.
